Storm Revel
Storm Revel Group & Raid Procedures
Groups
- Group Leader
- The Group Leader will be responsible for maintaining the group’s
pace, ensuring group procedures are followed correctly, calling AFK
breaks at convenient regular intervals, communicating group’s intent
to pick-up members, and retaining group cohesiveness.
- Loot
- All loot is Need Before Greed (NBG). Items Legendary and better
will be discussed in group chat before lotto’d on and should be
rolled on only if needed, unless no one needs in which case lotto
will become Free For All (FFA), FFA shall only be declared by Group
Leader. All items below Legendary will automatically be FFA unless
party member declares need.
- Shinies (? and !)
- One group member will be designated to collect shinies
throughout the zone. All shinies will be NBG /rand 100 and
distributed at the end of instance/group or at group leader’s
discretion during downtime/camp. Shinies may only be /rand on by
members in the party at time of collection.
- AFK
- Breaks will be called every 1-2 hours and will be between 3 and
5 minute intervals. If a quick AFK is needed before a break is
called please inform group. AFK tags should be used any time group
member is Away From Keyboard or cannot quickly react to the EQ2
screen.
- Voice Chat
- Ventrilo will be available for group communication but will not
be required. Ventrilo address will be given to pick-up members at
Group Leader’s discretion.
Raids
- Attendees
- When Storm Revel hosts a raid, members from our guild and our
alliance guilds should be included whenever possible in preference
to others. However, once someone is invited they will not be booted
to make space for a late-comer. As we get larger in guild and
alliance members we will need a sign-up sheet. When people sign up
it is expected they attend. Real life always matters more than in
game life, and we will be understanding of situations where one
cannot show or has to leave early.
- Raid Leader
- The Raid Leader will be responsible for maintaining the raid’s
pace, ensuring raid procedures are adhered to, calling AFK breaks at
convenient regular intervals, communicating raids intent and
procedures to pick-up members, distributing the correct classes
through raid groups to ensure the highest probability of success,
setting restrictions on classes allowed in raid, researching raid
zone, and formulating a strategy towards completing raid
successfully. Raid Leader will designate the following positions;
Main Tank (MT), Main Assist (MA), Off Tank (OT), and Group
Leaders. Raid Leader will communicate what will be required of the
raid during each encounter and position raid members as
necessary.
- Main Tank
- The MT will be responsible for engaging mobs, maintaining aggro
control, and positioning the encounter to limit the endangerment of
the raid. With direction from the Raid Leader, the MT will assist in
maintaining a steady pace for the raid.
- Main Assist
- The MA will direct the raid’s assault by acting as a funnel for
channeling the DPS of the raid force towards a single target. The MA
will give directions to the raid for controlling DPS output. The key
responsibility of the MA is ensuring aggro stays on the MT, if aggro
breaks from the MT the MA will cut off the DPS of the raid until the
MT has had a chance to regain aggro and position.
- Off Tank
- The OT will be used on an as needed basis. The two main
functions of the OT are picking up adds and/or picking up the
encounter if the MT goes down. The role of the OT in the raid will
be determined and stated by the raid leader at the beginning of the
raid or as circumstances change. As OT in a standard engagement
without adds, your role will be to generate enough hate that if the
MT goes down you can pick up the encounter with minimal delay to
prevent the wipe of the raid. In an encounter that deals with adds
your responsibility will be to gather the adds and burn them down.
- Group Leaders
- The Group Leaders will be in charge of various tasks for the
raid and may or may not be one of the before mentioned
positions. The responsibilities of the Group Leaders will be
delegated by the Raid Leader.
- Loot: Need Phase
- All raids will be NBG, this means that if the equipment being
rolled on will not be used in place of a current item you must pass
on it unless no one else needs it. No-trade items will be lotted on
immediately, while items which can be traded will be lotted on after
the raid ends. Equipment rolls are class-appropriate, meaning you
can only roll on equipment that is the tailored for the class you
are currently playing. All raid members have the potential to win 1
legendary, 1 fabled, and 1 master spell. The Raid Leader will
decide what classes may roll on what pieces. Sometimes items are
wearable by one class but are far more appropriate for another; in
this case the Raid Leader may not allow some classes who may wear
the item to lot. This is often the case with jewelry. All rolls
are /random 100, with roll-offs on ties.
- Loot: Greed Phase
- If no one wants an item, it will be put aside and will be rolled
on after the raid ends. This will be done by /rand 100, with
the highest roll getting first choice of the remaining items,
the second highest getting second choice, etc. Note that you
can only roll if you have not won something during this raid.
These need not be class specific.
- AFK
- The Raid Leader will call AFK breaks approximately every1-2
hours or where most convenient in the raid zone. These will be
5 minute AFK break so that the raid can be completed as
quickly as possible. In urgent matters, a quick AFK can be
taken by a member if they inform the Raid Leader. AFK tags
should be used any time a raid member is Away From Keyboard or
cannot quickly react to the EQ2 screen.
- Linkdead
- While it is unfortunate that some players cause this rule to be
in place, we have little choice on pick-up raids: If you go
linkdead after winning an item, and you do not return, you will be
added to a list of untrustworthy people. If you explain what
happened we will add this comment to our list. We are not intending
to be mean to people here, but we have had situations where the same
people go LD a very short while after winning an item. Once is bad
luck; twice is probably something else; three times is enemy
action.
- Raid Times
- When possible, raids will be scheduled with a start and an end
time. The raid start time will be the time determined to begin
forming up the raid as well as the time needed to gather any pick-up
members. The raid end time will be the time in which equipment and
items are rolled on and distributed. If a raid zone is not
completed by the end time given then after items are distributed any
members who need to leave may and if there are enough remaining
members who wish to continue, the raid will continue. If you have to
go before the end time listed you will not be eligible for rolling
on items.
- Voice Chat
- Ventrilo will be used for raid communication throughout the
raid. The Raid Leader will decide whether this will be mandatory or
optional. Most raid member will not need to speak on Vent, only be
able to listen. Vent may be used socially during AFK breaks and when
allowed by Raid Leader but is primarily for communicating during the
raid.
